I mostly work in C# and mostly in the Unity software Editor by Unity Technologies. However, I sometimes delve in to areas where I’ve never been before and find it utterly satisfying when finding new areas to explore.
My work can also be PHP/SQL related and most likely this would be in relation to a project I’m working on using the Unity Editor. I’ve used hosts in the past which didn’t allow for external connections to a database and so the solution was to write an API. The API send and recieve information from a local source and prints that information to the user who requested it. The software or game which requested that data can then collect that printed information and use it. No need for an external connection anymore when you can use and customize a “middle-man” to do that work for you!
What do I do when Im not working on super cool creative things?
This question could actually be answered in many ways since I have a daughter every other week and so the answer really differs; And the mood ofcourse 😀
If I have my daughter I love going around meeting up with friends so my kid can play with theirs and have some fun. I always see to it that we get away on some kind of adventure. If it is not a trip to the zoo it sure is going to be somewhere local. Like a forest where she can run around having fun. I dont want to say her name so lets call her Sofia. We need a name as a reference because atleast once every week when she is here, we all meet to eat and play some games. We call this day “The Sofia day”.
If I am completely free however, I really enjoy working on some projects. Its like reading a book, solving a puzzle or watching a movie unfold. I find it enjoyable and satisfactory.
I also have a couple of projects outside the PC world which I enjoy.
I enjoy taking on some garden items to repair or give a facelift to.
For example: I have a small table and couple of chairs that are outside for the summer period. They have been loosing their protective coating and need a new one. The wood has started be affected, negatively.
I take the object to the garage and I grind it down and give it a new coating.
Second example: I bought a “commute”-moped. I got it for 50euro and it was in a really bad shape. It didnt even start and many parts were broken. Right now the moped is looking good. I mean very very good.
However, it is not starting yet. Currently investigating!
Both of those examples are satisfactory. When you see the results and you have made it yourself.
Last but not least I enjoy just being around friends. Usually we meet and do some BBQ with a movie.
Fun fact about me is that I dont do any drugs, smoke cigarettes, snuff (snus) or any other stuff. I usually say that I dont even drink alcohol. I’m drinking alcohol perhaps 5 times a year and at those occations I never drink more than 3 of whatever Im drinking. I never get drunk.
